Lookig for a new .45 acp.

I currently own a LLama Maxi Lf. While its not great on fit or finnish , the price was right and after several hundred rounds through it has not had any feed problems.I love .45 cal. but I would like something smaller to fit my hand and need something more concealed oriented.I am currently looking at either a Springfield micro or a para ord warthog...any comments on either would be apppreciated. Thanks PB

Pick up a 9mm if you don't have one already.. Ammo is cheaper.. I would pick up a Glock 36 myself if I wanted a small 45.

+1...the G36 is about as small as you can get.

I carry a Kimber CDP Pro II concelled almost everyday. It only weighs 38 ounces unloaded, yet the recoil is very manageable. It is also very accurate. I give it very high marks. Carried a Browning Hi-Power 9mm for years before I got the Kimber. Carry a Glock compact .357 sig for backup.

Bersa Thunder .45 Ultra Compact. Just picked one up a few weeks ago and couldnt be happier. Spent less than $400 on it. Bersa is a great company that makes a fine gun.

No picture, but the G19 measures 1/10 inch wider than G36...

I think that is a picture of the G19 in 9mm...not the G36.

I carry a Taurus 24/7 pro in .45 ACP as my daily carry piece and I love it. Personally, I think its every bit as good as the XD or the Glock at lower price.

Its worth it to take a look at one.

I have two Springfield xd's, love them. My next purchase will be a 1911.

Get the Glock .45. It will be my next buy as well, to have a little more something for around the house. Maybe a 9mm as well. I love Glocks, but don't have much experience with anything else, so maybe I am biased. I just know that when I need it to perform, it needs to perform, and my glocks do that.

What 45 can hold the biggest number of rounds? I dont see anything close to how many rounds 9mm can hold.

Re: Lookig for a new .45 acp.

There is a considerable diameter difference between the 9mm and the .45, the 9mm almost stacks them side by side in the mag, the .45 has to stack them one on top of the other in the same size mag, otherwise you'd have a grip to big you wouldn't be able to hold onto it.

I hate glocks, still have two of them, but I prefer the xd's, will prolly get one of the new xdm's as well. but like i said the 1911 is my next buy,.

Thanx for the explaination............ I always wondered why it held such low numbers.

Lets put it this way.

I own a Sig P226 and a P229 that takes a factory mag holding 20 rounds of 9mm.

The largest 45ACP pistol I own is a Para Ordnance P1445 and it holds 14 rounds.

Sorry to blow your theory latitude22 but the ParaOrd uses a double stack mag.

On top the P226 in 9mm, Bottom the P229 in 9mm both with preban 20 round mags.

BTW these mags are available if anyone is interested.
